Draft for internal review. Split out from Terms §12 into its own page on purpose — DMCA safe-harbor protection under 17 U.S.C. § 512 depends partly on maintaining an easy-to-find designated-agent notice, not one buried inside a general Terms document. The agent must also be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office's online directory before this protection applies — that hasn't been done yet. Have counsel confirm the registration and this page's wording together.

Charon

Copyright & DMCA Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

1. Respecting Copyright

Charon respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects Artists to post only their own work, or work they have the right to display.

2. Filing a Notice

If you believe content on Charon infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes: your signature (physical or electronic); identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail to locate it on Charon; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you're authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

3. Designated Agent

[AGENT NAME]
[ADDRESS]
[EMAIL]
[Register this agent with the U.S. Copyright Office's Designated Agent Directory before relying on this policy for safe-harbor protection.]

4. Counter-Notice

If content of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notice with: your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake; your contact information; and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the U.S., Cook County, Illinois).

5. Repeat Infringers

Charon will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the account of an Artist who is a repeat infringer.
