Artist Agreement Supplement
Artist Verification Policy
Last updated: September 19, 2026
Applies to every Artist account. See the Artist Agreement for the rest of what governs your account.
1. Approval Is Required to Go Live
Subscribing doesn't make your page public by itself. Every Artist account is manually reviewed before it becomes visible to Clients and able to accept bookings. This isn't a judgment of your work — it's a check of the business information you've provided.
2. What Gets Reviewed
Your studio or establishment name and address, and the registration or license number for the establishment where you work, checked against what's publicly verifiable for that jurisdiction where practical. Charon does not inspect your premises, verify your artistic skill or training, or confirm your insurance coverage — see the Artist Agreement §2 for what Charon does and doesn't vet.
3. Your Certification
By submitting your account for review, you certify that:
- You perform tattoo services only at an establishment that holds any license, permit, or registration required by the state and local jurisdiction where it operates.
- You and your establishment comply with all applicable state and local health, safety, and body-art regulations for that jurisdiction — including sterilization, single-use equipment, and any required bloodborne-pathogen training.
- The business information you've provided is accurate, and you'll update it promptly if it changes.
- You will not provide tattoo services to anyone under 18, regardless of parental consent, unless your jurisdiction's law and your own professional judgment both independently permit it and you've confirmed that outside of Charon.
[This is the artist's affirmative representation, not Charon's verification of it — Charon is relying on the artist's certification, not independently confirming every jurisdiction's requirements. Counsel should confirm this framing limits Charon's exposure the way it's intended to.]
4. Rejection and Reversal
If your information can't be verified, or doesn't meet Charon's requirements, your account stays paused rather than public — you'll be told why and can resubmit corrected information. Charon can also revoke a previous approval if it later turns out the information provided was inaccurate.
5. Ongoing Duty to Update
If you change establishments, or your registration lapses or changes, you're required to update your information on Charon promptly. Continuing to accept bookings on inaccurate business information is a violation of the Artist Agreement and this policy.
