Liability Waiver & Release
Last updated: September 19, 2026
This releases your Artist — not Charon — for the inherent risks described below. Charon is not a party to this agreement; see Charon's Terms.
1. What This Covers
This release applies only to the inherent risks of tattooing described in the Informed Consent & Health Disclosure you agreed to — risks that can occur even when your Artist follows proper sterile technique and reasonable care. It does not release your Artist from claims arising from gross negligence, recklessness, a violation of the Illinois Body Art Code, or intentional misconduct.
2. What You're Releasing
In exchange for your Artist performing the tattoo service you've requested, you release your Artist and their establishment from liability for injury, infection, allergic reaction, dissatisfaction with the aesthetic outcome, or any other inherent risk disclosed in the Informed Consent & Health Disclosure, to the extent that risk materializes despite your Artist's reasonable and ordinary care.
3. What This Does Not Cover
Nothing in this document waives any claim arising from: gross negligence or recklessness; failure to follow required sterilization or single-use-needle procedures; performing a service while not properly registered under the Illinois Tattoo and Body Piercing Establishment Registration Act; or any intentional act.
4. Charon Is Not a Released Party
This waiver runs between you and your Artist only. Charon does not perform tattoo services, is not present at your appointment, and is not released by this document — Charon's own limited role and liability are addressed separately in Charon's Terms.
5. Signature
By checking the box presented with this document, you confirm you have read and understood it. Charon records the exact version of this document, the time, and your account at the moment you agree, and keeps that record on file for both you and your Artist.
